First Thoughts

My First Thoughts!

No longer an empty book! The first thoughts on, a post that will go down as never read, or quickly forgotten. A post that basically just needs to happen to allow the rest of the posts to get on with it. If you are checking out this blog, and this is the only post on here… don’t let first impressions push you away. I promise there will be some great content moving forward. But, there has to be a first post.

My about page was written first, with great promises of discussions and topics exploring ideas of life. I wonder how my about page might change a few years from now after has some traction. Perhaps the initial “Why” will remain? However, I’m totally fine with an unknown evolution as long as it’s in the right direction.

The Master Plan

So let me tell you now, since this post will never move or change, what the first great master plan is for this blog.

A few weeks ago I read a blog post about Pat, the guy who started Green Exam Academy, and who also now runs the Smart Passive Income blog. Before stumbling on his story, I had been contemplating a new blog and stewing over a couple blog content topics. Then Pat’s story honed my focus.

He started the Green Exam Academy because he wanted to become fluent in a particular topic (the information necessary to pass the LEED certification exam). All the time he applied to research then putting it in a form that is teachable, made Pat an authority on LEED certification.

If you’re into blogging (I’ve been out of it since about 2013), you probably already know Pat’s story. New to me, I connected with his drive and method to seek knowledge. With this guided perspective, I found a new light illuminating a new possibility for myself. Research and write to gain the knowledge I am seeking! And sincerely, I hope this information can help you too.

What’s in my head?

Like I had said, over the past few months I have been contemplating the beginnings of a new blog. Thanks to Pat, I finally have found a topic where I can apply my energy and passion, while hitting the digital ground running. These topics all revolve around life, and living life to it’s fullest. They’re also all topics that I’ve been reading and thinking about for probably seven good long years.

In brief, they include:

  • abundance versus scarcity
  • the law of attraction
  • integrity
  • the essence of the individual
  • self discovery
  • relationships
  • influence
  • life habits
  • education
  • wisdom and knowledge
  • self-reliance
  • leadership
  • generosity
  • being conscientious

I am no expert in any of the above topics. And that is why my tagline states: “IDEAS explored and shared.” I believe that many of these topics are natural laws, and have natural consequences. I also believe they can be explored scientifically, and examples can be pulled from nature and history. I intend to go to the the best minds, books, and articles on these topics and dig through them all thoroughly. I want to understand them so well that I could teach them fluently.

What’s to come?

Well, I’m not sure yet. If I were to guess how this blog will be one year from now, I’d probably be wrong. I plan to use the next few months to build my rhythm. I will research, and prepare the information as it develops. Will that be presented once a week, once a day, once a month? I’m not sure yet. But I do intend to be diligent in gathering good credible information to compile, and developing a consistent format.

So, if you follow this blog early on, be patient as the flow and voice mature. Habits will form, and lights will turn on. This project gives me energy, hope, excitement, and a thrill of adventure. As Victor Hugo said,

Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come.

Thank You!

Closing my first thoughts, I would like to thank you for coming and being involved in this discussion. Did I miss any major topics that you would be interested in learning more about? Anything we can research together? Put them in the comments below.

Thank you, and I look forward to a bright future together!
